SPHE405 Final Assignment.

Your required to create a tri-fold informational brochure about an injury of your choice. This brochure should be informational and geared towards understanding a common injury in a sport, and the immediate treatment of the injury.  Identify the anatomy and resulting damage, mechanism of injury, initial first aid response to the injury, and treatment of this injury.  You should also include what are the recommended return to play criteria.  You may also include:  key information, educating about your injury, as well as resources for more information.  This brochure should be able to be used to educate coaches on the action plan and parents about their child's injury.  Graphics should be used. (The best and easiest program to use to create a brochure is Microsoft Publisher--the second best is Powerpoint.  Use the internet to find examples and/or templates.  Do NOT simply put words and pictures on a piece of paper. Also think about how the brochure will be folded to ensure the title panel is on the front and the references are on the center back.)  Please include on the brochure center back panel a Bibliography (at least 3 references).

  Topical headings to delineate systems.

For any system for which you do not have equipment, explain how you would do the assessment.

Detailed review of each system with normal and abnormal findings, along with normal laboratory findings for client age.

An analysis of age-specific risk reduction, health screen, and immunizations.

Your expectation of normal findings and what might indicate abnormal findings in your review of systems.

The differential diagnosis (disease) associated with possible abnormal findings.

A plan of care (including nursing diagnosis, interventions, evaluation).

Client and age-appropriate evidenced based practice strategies for health promotion.

Pharmacological treatments that can be used to address health issues for this client.

Provide your answers in a 6- to 7-page Microsoft Word document.

Support your responses with examples.

Economic Concept of Nursing

Consider this question Homework Think of a health care problem and evaluate it using the Table 14A.1 worksheet. What steps might a nurse advocate taking to address ethical issues related to this health problem? Point out ways in which knowledge of health care financing, budgeting, and making a business case might be applicable in resolving the ethical issues.

Support your answers by writing a 500-word paper in an APA formatted summary.

Cardiovascular Alterations

At least once a year, the media report on a seemingly healthy teenage athlete collapsing during a sports game and dying of heart complications. These incidents continue to outline the importance of physical exams and health screenings for teenagers, especially those who play sports. During these health screenings, examiners check for cardiovascular alterations such as heart murmurs because they can be a sign of an underlying heart disorder. Since many heart alterations rarely have symptoms, they are easy to miss if health professionals are not specifically looking for them. Once cardiovascular alterations are identified in patients, it is important to refer them to specialists who can further investigate the cause.

Consider the following scenario:

A 16-year-old male presents for a sports participation examination. He has no significant medical history and no family history suggestive of risk for premature cardiac death. The patient is examined while sitting slightly recumbent on the exam table and the advanced practice nurse appreciates a grade II/VI systolic murmur heard loudest at the apex of the heart. Other physical findings are within normal limits, the patient denies any cardiovascular symptoms, and a neuromuscular examination is within normal limits. He is cleared with no activity restriction. Later in the season he collapses on the field and dies.

To Prepare

Review the scenario provided, as well as Chapter 25 in the Huether and McCance text. Consider how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment for the patient.

Select one of the following patient factors: genetics, ethnicity, or behavior. Reflect on how the factor you selected might impact diagnosis and prescription of treatment for the patient in the scenario.

Post a description of how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment for the patient in the scenario. Then explain how the factor you selected might impact the diagnosis and prescription of treatment for that patient.

Disorders of the Veins and Arteries

“Diseases of the Veins” (pp. 598-599) in Chapter 23 of the Huether and McCance text. Identify the pathophysiology of chronic venous insufficiency and deep venous thrombosis. Consider the similarities and differences between these disorders.

Select a patient factor different from the one you selected in this week’s Discussion: genetics, gender, ethnicity, age, or behavior. Think about how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of CVI and DVT. Reflect on how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment of these disorders for a patient based on the factor you selected.

Review the “Mind Maps—Dementia, Endocarditis, and Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)” media in the Week 2 Learning Resources. Use the examples in the media as a guide to construct two mind maps—one for chronic venous insufficiency and one for venous thrombosis. Consider the epidemiology and clinical presentation of both chronic venous insufficiency and deep venous thrombosis.

To Complete

Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following:

Compare the pathophysiology of chronic venous insufficiency and deep venous thrombosis. Describe how venous thrombosis is different from arterial thrombosis.

Explain how the patient factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of CVI and DVT. Describe how you would diagnose and prescribe treatment of these disorders for a patient based on the factor you selected.

Construct two mind maps—one for chronic venous insufficiency and one for deep venous thrombosis. Include the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation, as well as the diagnosis and treatment you explained in your paper.

Breathing, heart and lungs.

An anxious patient is having rapid and shallow breathing. After a few moments, he complains of a tingling sensation.

What could be the causes of this tingling sensation?

What are the various patterns of respiration and their significance?

Ethnicity and culture influence risk factors for heart disease. Do you agree? Why or why not?

What is the technique of percussion and palpation of the chest wall for tenderness, symmetry, bulges, fremitus, and thoracic expansion? Explain.

Would you anticipate hearing hyper-resonance on a patient with a history of tobacco use? Why or why not?

What are the mechanics of breathing with reference to lung borders and the anatomical structure of the lungs and diaphragm?

Literature review health class

The Literature Review provides the background and context for the research problem and illustrates to the reader that the researcher is knowledgeable about the study. This section shares with the reader the results of others studies that closely related to the study being reported. It also related a study to the larger, ongoing dialogue in the literature about a topic, filling in gaps and extending prior studies.  Summarize previous studies related to a topic them in a succinct manner. In a proposal, the literature review is generally brief and to the point.

Review various articles and dissertations, as they may help one to understand how to write and summarize previous research. When writing the literature review, it is wise to separate the various studies one finds into different categories.  Under these categories, create “Level 2 subheadings” in APA style. These subheadings are formatted just like Level 1 headings, but they are aligned left. See the subheadings below for an example.

1stSubheading

Choose one evident theme or topic that became apparent when researching your study. Briefly share the results of the various studies, including the most pertinent information such as the studies’ hypotheses, population, methodology, and results.Relate the study to an ongoing dialogue of the literature pertaining to the research topic. This means that each study one lists should relate to new, proposed study in some way. Report the studies sequentially if possible, building upon the findings of prior studies. Remember to separate each category of studies with a new subheading. Do this as many times as needed.  another evident theme or topic that became apparent when researching your study.

The topic I have written Is: Yoga and Decreased Levels of Depression in the Elder Population.

You will need to find 8-10 articles relevant to this topic and write in the literature review about it. Again It has to be 4 pages long. And all articles must be cited in APA format
