Criminal justice

(1) Choose a case that deals with an ethical issue, in science or the medical field or in

society.

Capital Punishment

(2) Write a paper about it: its importance, why it is important, etc.

(3) Analyze the case providing both sides of the story, while applying the information you

have learned in ethics. Also review the Power Point slides on BB on Ethical concepts in

Science and Research for rules governing ethical misconduct.

(4) Give your own thoughts about the ethical issue.

Research Presentation related to chemistry (Powerpoint)

The main goal of this scientific review paper is to provide a guided view of the current knowledge state and future directions in a specific topic area of your choice. This scientific review presentation should be a synthesis of results from the main scientific studies of a specific research area covering a specific time period, for example, the last two decades.

Your review presentation should be a synthesis of your comprehensive literature research on a topic area of your choice. The bulk of the scientific research review paper should focus on primary sources of scientific publications, the original scientific experimentation results reported in scientific journals. Secondary sources such as textbooks or review journals are easier to understand and can be useful in getting an overview of the field of interest. You can model one to devise an outline for your paper.

Topic: Establishment of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis for soybean protein isolate and its application

Traditional energy

Write a paper (a scholarly paper) on your chosen energy topic. Your focus is on either electricity (if you had Nuclear, Renewable, or Conventional) or transportation. The instructor assigned your topic which will be Traditional energy. The paper must be a minimum 2500 words. On average, this will be 5-6 pages long, single spaced. (This is NOT including pictures, references, or graphs, which should also be included. See the rubric attached.) I would like you to use a SANS-SERIF font like Arial, or Calibri. Please, DO NOT USE TIMES ROMAN. Use 10 or 12 pitch font. I prefer 0.5 to 1 inch margins, and 0.5 to 1 inch top and bottom.

The paper must have references. There must be a minimum of 10 references. Include any work which you have taken information from. The references should be in ACS reference format, using Superscripts. (Google ACS reference format for style) I would like you to use the format where you reference with a superscript number and then reference that number in the back in the bibliography (or references).

Medical Prefix and Suffix

Prefix's help us understand a word. Give me 1 examples of a word with Prefix, how you can recognize them and what they mean?? I do not want duplicate words please.

When you state the disease. What are the symptoms? How is it diagnosed? How does it affect the body? What does it look like? How is it treated? Is it life threatening? What med's are used if any? How do people get the disease? Any other info you can provide to help us understand the diseases. Please think outside the box and avoid duplicate posts. : )

Suffix's help us understand a word. Give me 1 example of word with a suffix, how you can recognize them and what they mean?? I do not want duplicate words please.

When you state the disease. What are the symptoms? How is it diagnosed? How does it affect the body? What does it look like? How is it treated? Is it life threatening? What med's are used if any? How do people get the disease? Any other info you can provide to help us understand the diseases.

Sweet Truth: Not all Carbohydrates are Alike

Answer the following questions related to the case study (Sweet Truth: Not all Carbohydrates are Alike):

1.   In aqueous solutions, there are three forms of glucose: the cyclic alpha-form (36%), the cyclic beta-form (64%), and a trace amount of the open-chain form. At equilibrium, the cyclic alpha- and beta-forms are constantly interchanging when in solution. (1) Explain why the cyclic forms exist predominately in solutions, AND (2) explain why the cyclic beta-form is more abundant than the cyclic alpha-form.

2.   Name the monosaccharides and disaccharides in amylose and cellulose. Compare the structural and conformation differences between amylose and cellulose. A simple iodine test can be used to distinguish the two polysaccharides. (1) Describe the iodine test AND (2) explain the observation.

3.   List AND explain the side effects that can be caused consuming too much sorbitol.

4.   Why are soluble fibers identified as prebiotics?

Cannabis use on Cancer

Research and explain how Cancer treatment with Cannabinoids and how it relates to the endocannabinoid system. Discuss how treatment offered for Cancer that makes use of cannabinoids or other drugs that interact with cannabinoid receptors, explain the mechanism cancer treatment with the use of Cannabinoid.

Once it is explained how Cancer is related to the endocannabinoid system, integrate how Cannabinoids and the Endocannabinoid system more generally. Like is there any other ways to approach treatment that might be beneficial?

The paper must be five pages, but no more than eight, APA format. Give proper in text citations, 2-3 scholarly peer review.

Discussion

A combination of chemistry and cooking resulted in a chemical process called molecular gastronomy, spherification to encapsulate liquids. A common chemical reaction plays an important role in molecular gastronomy.

An example of this chemical reaction is the reaction to form spherical olive. To make a spherical olive, calcium chloride which dissolves in the olive juice carefully poured into a solution of sodium alginate. When the calcium choride in the olive juice encounter the alginate sodium in the solution, a chemical reaction occurs to form an encapsulating sphere around the juice. Name the chemical reaction and name the product.
